February is starting out okay in this part of the world. Not quite as warm as I'd like, but plenty of sunshine. The groundhog should arrive soon enough to provide some insight about how soon Spring will arrive. We'll celebrate Valentine's Day and Presidents Day, followed by Mardi Gras. Sound like party time? We get an extra day this month since we're in a leap year. What will you you with the extra day?

Hope your month is off to a good start.

February is the month we (in north Alabama) start to get ready for spring. Not today though, it is raining and will for the next two days.

I'm not a fan of the pre-Spring rains that seem to come every February. It could be worse, though. My daughter lives in Wyoming up near Cody. She said they got two feet of snow from this storm when it passed through there. I'll probably be cutting grass by the end of the month.

This weekend brings us the Super Snow Moon. Don't know if our sky will be clear enough to see it. Although February is not quite Spring, it's a lot closer than January was.
