The new Firefox 50 for Linux has a significant problem -- the flyout menu that you access from the three bars in the upper right appears, but is dead. To access the features normally accessible through this menu, you have to right-click on the three bars icon and enable the menu toolbar. Afterwards, the flyout menu is still dead, but the menu toolbar works fine.

In the image below you can see the useless flyout...

I have seen a few other issues, including problems uploading to Photobucket, as well as slow page loads.

In other general Internet news, I am seeing more and more sites hiding behind paywalls or requiring you to turn adblock off to view anything, and then when you do, they drop ads on you from a B-52, so that pages that used to load nearly instantly can take 30 seconds or more, and this is on a 20+ meg/sec. connection. Leave it to the ad companies to make sure broadband performs like dialup... One of these days they'll end up losing dollars to make an extra dime or two...

Re:Dead Flyout Menu Firefox 50

I looked all over Bugzilla for a bug corresponding to this issue and couldn't find one, so I started to wonder if there was an actual issue here... anyway, I pulled an update to libimagemagick and also to ubuntu-base and while they didn't appear to change anything at first, now the menu is working normally. The icons are not dead like they were in the original post, and they are arranged correctly.

Interesting...
